Why do I have to have a Consultation?A tattoo consultation is important to our process because it gives you the client a chance to more clearly communicate your ideas and a chance to build a tattoo artist-client relationship. Not every tattoo that you get will need a consultation, however it's a must have for larger tattoos i.e., backpieces, sleeves, half sleeves etc. This is also your opportunity to interview your artist, ask lots of questions and get a feel of the studio environment and determine if you are comfortable getting tattooed there. Addtionally for the tattoo artist there's no better way of figuring out the best placement for your tattoo than meeting you and seeing the area in person. You'll want your tattoo to be placed in the most flattering position and area on your body. Size and placment is a big factor in your tattoo decision because it can really make or break your tattoo, you may want to expand in the future and don't want the size or placement of your tattoo to effect your future plans.

What happens at a consultation? At the tattoo consultation you get to meet Rhyno and explain your tattoo ideas. You should bring the following: reference material pictures of other tattoos you admire any inspiring artwork anything to help get your point across I try not to copy another tattoo artist's work but, I can use the material to gain an idea of the look you are trying to achieve. Once we get along and agree to do the tattoo we can start putting together ideas and references to get a general feel for what it could look like. Along with working out the idea and look of the peice we will also start mapping out the possible areas for placement options and to ensure that the peice flows well with the body. All that's left now is for you to pay your deposit and book your appointment.

Deposit? At the end of a successful tattoo consultation I ask for a $300.00 TT deposit. The deposit ensures your comitment to the project and your appointment. Your deposit goes towards the total cost of your tattoo session. If you do not give me at least 48hrs notice for appointment cancellation, I reserve the right to keep your deposit. I am sure you can understand that I don't want to get stuck with a day of no work and no one to fill your spot. I lose income. Of course, if you do give notice within 48 hours of your appointment, I will gladly reschedule you with your deposit covering your reschduled tattoo session. I also reserve the right to keep your deposit if you are unable to meet your reschduled appointment.
